I love what I do

“It started about 10 years ago. I was tired of being the fat kid that could never fit into anything pretty and many made fun of me because of my size. I’m 160 cm and weighed at the time almost 90 kg – 89.6 to be exact. I would die if the scale hit 90! I didn’t know anything about losing weight but me and my mom joined a gym and slowly changed our diet for the better and with time I got more knowledge about food and training. It was fun to see my body change and the clothes fit better. The feeling was amazing and I quit smoking. Best decision I’ve ever made. It slowly became an obsession and I wouldn’t skip a workout and kept a very strict diet. In 6 months I lost 20 kg. I went from being healthy to the verge of being underweight. When the scale hit 45.3 kg, I actually didn´t like the way I looked. I couldn´t fit anything in a regular store anymore. I had to shop in the kids section. Everywhere I went, people commented on the way I looked or that I should eat more because I was so skinny. It wasn´t a pleasant feeling because I just thought I was fit and healthy. When I was fat, people commented behind my back instead. My training took over my life. I exercised 6-7 days a week. I ran 30-40 km, did Zumba for 3-5 hours and weightlifting 3 times too! I wasn´t happy and needed change. I started to eat more because that was the only solution. I still worked out a lot because I couldn’t imagine why I would stop. I got a knee injury but that didn’t hold me back. I recovered but with time got diagnosed with chondromalacia patellae. I stopped running because of it. My runs got shorter and more painful. Some days I could barely walk. I tried to relax and work my training around it but didn’t really work. I got pregnant and was still able to dance and lift weights. It was hard to see my weight go up but I knew it wasn’t because of a bad diet or lack of exercise. The day before I was supposed to give birth, I was at the gym for 40 hardcore min on the step machine. 3 hours later I got my first contractions. Through the pregnancy I gained about 11 kg and it was gone within 3 weeks. My strength increased slowly and I got in excellent shape again. And when my baby was about 10 months old, I was expecting my second baby. I gained about the same amount of weight and was still able to remain active during the last pregnancy. With 2 kids I’m still able to workout 3-4 times a week and keep a healthy diet. I might not be able to run or dance (too much jumping in Zumba) but I´m just satisfied with being able to lift weights. And I couldn’t imagine it any different because I love what I do. Now I´m happy at 54-55 kg.”
